Relief Sculpture in

Contemporary Life

Today, relief sculpture has found a new place in contemporary life.
It is no longer limited to historical buildings and can now be seen in everyday spaces such as homes, hotels, and even metro stations.
In recent years, I have worked closely with architects and interior designers to create works that go beyond decoration.
These reliefs are meant to communicate with the space, give it identity, and become part of the experience of being and living in that environment.

Afagh Advay is a sculptor and wall artist with over 18 years of experience in ceramic relief, sculpture, and volumetric surfaces. Her main focus is on creating handcrafted ceramic reliefs designed specifically for interior spaces.

For Afagh Advay, relief sculpture serves as a bridge between sculpture and architecture. Her works are not merely decorative elements; they create a dialogue between form, volume, light, and space, enriching the viewer’s experience and making the environment feel more human and engaging.

Over the years, Afagh Advay has collaborated closely with architects and interior designers, providing services from design to execution for residential, commercial, and artistic projects. Currently based in Vancouver, she ensures that each piece interacts directly with its surrounding architecture.
